Liposuction:
Aesthetic liposuction for body contouring and treatment of lipoedema
Liposuction, also known as liposuction, is a surgical procedure used to specifically reduce superficial fat accumulation on the body. Excess fat cells are removed by suction in order to achieve an improved body shape and contour. This method is used both for aesthetic reasons to improve body image and for medical reasons in certain fat distribution disorders and lipoedema.
Indications:
- People who have certain problem areas with stubborn, superficial fat deposits despite healthy eating and regular physical activity can benefit from aesthetic liposuction, for body contouring. Typical areas include abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, chin and upper arms.
- Liposuction allows targeted correction and shaping of the body to achieve a more harmonious appearance.
- Lipedema is a chronic disease characterized by an uneven multiplication of fatty tissue, mainly on the legs and/or arms. Affected often suffer from pain, swelling and limited mobility. Liposuction can help relieve symptoms and slow the progression of the disease by removing excess fatty tissue.
Technology:
The gold standard is tumescence local anesthesia, without general anesthesia, which we specialize in and perform daily at the Bodenseeklinik.
- Tumescence local anesthesia is a technique in which a special solution of local anesthetic, adrenaline for blood vessel constriction and a physiological saline solution is injected into the fatty tissue.
- This solution helps to numb the fatty tissue, minimize bleeding and soften the fat cells, which facilitates later extraction.
- By using local anesthesia, we perform liposuction, depending on the extent, on an outpatient or inpatient basis, without the need for general anesthesia, which reduces the risk and recovery time for the patient.
- After an exposure time of 30-60 minutes, liposuction by means of vibration technology is carried out gently for the tissue in multidimensional fan technology. This achieves a contour-imparting fat reduction. Immediately after liposuction, a bodice is dressed to support the contouring healing. During and after liposuction, you will be continuously monitored.
Conclusion:
Liposuction is a scientifically proven method for targeted fat reduction and treatment of fat distribution disorders and lipoedema. Through tumescence local anesthesia, we perform liposuction in vibration technology safely and effectively, ensuring rapid recovery and minimal risks for the patient.
Nevertheless, liposuction should always be performed in an approved clinic by a qualified plastic surgery specialist who specializes in this procedure.
We at the Bodenseeklinik are specialized in liposuctions and carry them out daily by our experienced specialists.
