What is Lipedema?
The causes of lipoedema are not yet fully known. It is believed that heredity leads to a fat distribution disorder, which – symmetrically – occurs first on the legs and later also on the arms.
Almost exclusively women are affected by the disease. A hormonal change often leads to the onset or worsening of lipoedema. The condition usually shows up at puberty, during pregnancy or during menopause. Lipedema can be chronically progressive or stagnate in a certain phase of the disease.
Therapy of Lipedema – this is how it is done
The goal of lipoedema therapy is to improve the findings and reduce possible complications. The forms of therapy include complex, physical relaxation therapy and liposuction.
