This is how it is done
In order to reduce the size of the chin, the specialist team first exposes the chin bone via a cut in the mucous membrane of the lower lip. Now the chin bone is shortened or separated from the lower jaw. As a result, the surgeons can move the chin into the predetermined position and fix it with screws or metal plates.
We then sew the wound and place a small drainage so that blood and wound secretion can flow off unhindered. A special bandage holds the chin in its new form. Under certain circumstances, the metal platelets are removed later in a further intervention.
Chin reduction usually occurs in general anesthesia.
