Breast augmentation is the most common procedure in Germany, and the decision to have an intervention can have very different reasons. Either the breasts are too sparsely developed or have grown asymmetrically or congenital with malformation for various reasons. Breast augmentation with implants
In general anesthesia, the breast implant is inserted via a cut into the skin on the lower breast fold into a shaped implant pocket. The implant will lie either under the muscle sheath (subfascial) on the pectoral muscle or partially under the pectoral muscle (subpectoral). Breast augmentation surgery always follows standardized and scientifically evidence-based steps in the Bodenseeklinik to minimize bacterial contamination and capsular fibrosis.

From initial consultation to aftercare
At the beginning there is a personal consultation and clarification. During the consultation, an explanation, an examination and an individual therapy planning take place. Before the final decision, you should take a time of reflection.
Admission to the clinic takes place the day before the operation, the operation the next morning – the duration of the operation depends on the procedure. It takes about an hour for a breast enlargement. If breast augmentation with tightening is carried out, the procedure takes about two hours. This is followed by the regeneration and aftercare phase – it includes 14 days of sparing, after which no sport that affects the chest area may be performed for 8 weeks. Two weeks after breast surgery, the nodules are removed, the surgical threads dissolve on their own. During this time, we will advise and monitor you.

- intravenous administration of an antibiotic upon initiation of anesthesia
- Extensive skin disinfection with appropriate substances
- Application of "Nipple Shields" to the nipple
- atraumatic preparation with immediate hemostasis
- subfascial or subpectoral lodge selection

- sterile glove and instrument change before implantation
- Insertion of the implant in "No touch" technology with sterile filling funnel – Keller-Funnel2
- Fixation of the underbreast fold by means of "inner bra" technique
- Layered wound closure
