We old, and with us also our skin. As part of the aging process, cell metabolism becomes slower, collagen and lipid production decreases. In addition, skin aging is also influenced by individual factors – our lifestyle, the extent of sun exposure and the production of growth and sex hormones. In order to positively influence skin aging and to create a youthful and fresher appearance, we use polylactic acid, one of the strongest collagen formers.
Polylactic acid – treatment
These factors cause our skin to become thinner, flaccid, dryer and also more sensitive. From the middle of the thirties we already see first wrinkles. With increasing age, the subcutaneous fatty tissue decreases and the connective tissue relaxes, which means an additional loss of volume. This in turn leads to the formation of smaller and larger folds and hanging soft tissue areas. We distinguish between static folds – such as the nasolabial fold – and dynamic/mimic folds – such as the forehead folds – and crow feet on the eyes.

Polylactic acid – this is how it is done
At the Bodenseeklinik we are specialized in facial treatment with Sculptura and perform it daily. Before the treatment, an educational interview with analysis of the findings is carried out. In the outpatient treatment, polylactic acid is injected almost painlessly into the previously drawn areas on the face by means of a blunt cannula.
