The eyelid correction is the smallest correction in plastic (aesthetic) surgery, but has an immense effect.

Daily eye contact with yourself in the morning mirror should be welcome. Suspended eyelids are due to the decreasing elasticity of the fine skin on the upper eyelid and lower eyelid as well as the eyelid muscles. When the eyelids hang down, the look seems tired and exhausted – even if you are full of energy and drive.
Various reasons for eyelid corrections
Not only hanging eyelids or tear bags are reasons for eyelid correction – in many people there is an asymmetry between the right and left lids. The surgeon can also compensate for this defect by removing a differently sized strip of skin from the right or left upper eyelid.
The eyelid is also operated on warts, moles, eyelid weaknesses, scar corrections or unequal eyelids and – in the reconstructive sense – the consequences of accidents, tumor removals or burns are remedied.
We measure exactly!
Before an eyelid correction, it is measured very precisely how much skin must be removed. In the worst case, there would be a so-called overcorrection, in which too much skin is removed, which would lead to disturbances of the eyelid closure or tear secretion. For dry eyes, "artificial tears" help. However, if the eyelid closure does not improve in the first weeks and months after the operation, it could be corrected in such a case.

An upper eyelid correction/upper eyelid lift means the operation of the so-called slip slides,
in the case of lower eyelid correction, on the other hand, the removal of the lacrimal bags is carried out by a lower eyelid lift.

Local anesthesia is sufficient for the operation. The surgeon then places the cuts in the natural skin folds of the upper eyelid, approximately parallel to the eyebrow arch and removes the skin strip several millimeters wide.

As a rule, the pure operation time lasts one to one and a half hours, the patient must be there 1 hour before, the preparation time lasts 30 minutes, and the patient remains in the clinic for control for a few hours.

Subsequently, the eyelid is lifted off and the cause of the correction is eliminated: the so-called tear bags are fat bodies filled with lymph, which form in old age and must be exactly removed for a good result. Finally, the excess skin is removed without pulling and exactly adapted to the wound edge with a fine seam. The doctor removes the threads after 6 days.

The visit to the ophthalmologist is not absolutely necessary before an operation – if you have no pain and no problems with vision, nothing stands in the way of an aesthetic correction. However, surgery is excluded in people with pre-existing conditions if surgery is contraindicated.

Aftercare in eyelid tightening
To promote the best possible healing, the doctor's orders must be followed and the eye must be slightly cooled for a certain period of time.
Immediately after the operation, physical loads should be avoided – for example, sports, direct sunlight and extreme cold should be avoided. Normally, the scars are no longer felt after complete healing. If you have a tendency to noticeable scar formation, you should start from the 14th. Day for about 6 months, a scary ointment is massaged twice a day.

Precisely the delicate eyebrow tends to swelling – here cold applications and swelling drugs such as ibuprofen can help.
Combination interventions: upper lid correction, lower lid correction and wrinkle underspraying
